De game van het jaar is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! Dit is bekend geworden tijdens The Game Awards 2017 . De open wereld game van Nintendo laat hiermee games als Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, PUBG en Super Mario Odyssey achter zich.
Bij The Game Awards worden de beste spellen van het afgelopen jaar geëerd. De jury hiervan bestaat uit meerdere grote gamepublicaties, zoals Edge, Kotaku, IGN en Gamespot.
Er viel op de Game Awards uiteraard niet alleen een pak nieuws te rapen, maar er vielen ook heel wat Awards binnen te halen. Wie wist de meeste nominaties te verzilveren? Wie ging aan de haal met de Game of the Year-award, enzovoort, enzovoort?
Opvallend was dat Overwatch twee prijzen heeft gewonnen, ondanks dat de game in 2016 verschenen is en toen al Game van 2016 was geworden. Mooie prestatie van Blizzard!
